CWO Carlos Antonio Rodriguez

In Loving Memory of Carlos Antonio Rodriguez, a humble yet extraordinary man who touched the lives of all who knew him with his kindness, integrity, and unwavering love. Carlos passed away peacefully on February 4 th 2024, surrounded by the love of his family at Bob Wilson Naval Medical Center in San Diego. He was 69. Born on May 20 th 1954, in New York to Ramon and Gloria Mercado-Rodriguez. He was the youngest of five children, Ricardo, Ramon Jr, Yolanda and Gloria. Carlos was raised in a military household where family values were held in the highest esteem. From an early age, he learned the importance of discipline, respect, and responsibility, values that would guide him throughout his life's journey. A proud Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, Carlos earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from National University with honors while serving his country. He embodied the principles of honor, courage, and sacrifice. His military service was a testament to his unwavering commitment to duty and his dedication to serving his country. Beyond his military service, Carlos Antonio Rodriguez was a loving husband to Ma’Belle, devoted father to Stacy, Baby Tiffany, Tiffany Marie, Carlos Jr and Abrieal. Carlos was also blessed with five grandchildren Beauregard, Jourdan, Joshua, Keira and Callie. His love for his family knew no bounds. He had a warm and generous heart. Carlos made time to give back to his community. He had a background in auditing for US Customs and doing taxes for H&R Block. He volunteered his time and skills to help Marines at Camp Pendleton and Senior Citizens with their taxes. He donated computers to El Camino High School in Oceanside for children with special needs, in support of his son’s education. He also spent a month in New Orleans volunteering for FEMA to assist in aid for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Carlos will be deeply missed but his spirit will forever live on in the memories of all who had the privilege of knowing him and his love will forever echo in their hearts like a beacon of light that will never dim. A private memorial service will be held in honor of CWO2 Carlos Antonio Rodriguez, where family and close friends will gather to celebrate his life and share memories of the extraordinary man he was.
